Bouncing back to what’s going on with my office. I thought I would give you a peek at what I’m doing, since I don’t have a dramatic reveal post done.
What office? this is the before post check it out. Tiny Bedroom to Office

The room is very little, about 9ft. by 10ft. It has two doors and one window. Besides the entrance door, the other door is for the attic staircase. We do go up to the attic all time. It makes sense to have the office here instead of another guest bedroom. The window faces east and gets morning sunlight through the trees, which is nice. In the afternoon though it is rather dark.
what’s going in the office
My little desk will now reside in the little office. Little, little, little, yes it’s the theme. My desk (21″x 42″) was a thrift shop find. It was in our bedroom. It was a traditional maple medium brown. I “restyled” it with homemade chalk paint and did a dark stained top.

I’m keeping the Country White trim that already in the room.

I painted deep navy on the walls. Oh yes, that very dark color in a very little room.

There is a surprise white and navy stripe somewhere in the room. A little Ralph Lauren boating feel.

Some old gold to liven up the navy.

I want the office to feel like the room has been there forever. I don’t want a “just went to the furniture store and bought all this matching stuff” look. I want the “look at all this cool stuff I’ve gotten over the years” look. If it was a new build I might want the first one, but not for this house. Since most of my cool stuff is somewhere else I’ll have to get more. Poor me, but more is more.
Besides “cool and good looking” stuff, this office will still have to have stuff that works. Things like a laptop, extra large copier, silhouette machine, files, etc. It’s not just a space to go through on the way to the attic floor. I’ll be working in it and using it.
One more thing, I have a big over the top thing that is going to reside in the office. Hint, I’m sure it came out of a government office.
I should be getting a reveal post soon. Of course I’ve so many things to get done before the snow flies. I’ve dismantled the main staircase and started refinishing it. I have about 5 piece of furniture to redo, plus a dinning room table and 6 chairs. I want to paint the old table and chairs that are going into my daughter’s basement. Paint the living room and the entry/staircase space. AND…….WINTER IS COMING!
If you haven’t hit the follow button, please do so. Then you’ll get a e-mail letting you know when there is a new post of crazy nuttiness.
love it good job. the refinish is a good winter project.
